About this site
We publish what things actually cost in Japan, so that people outside Japan can tell whether importing is worth it.
Why us
We are based in Japan and we work with Japanese second-hand trade data every day. That gives us one thing almost no English-language site has: what Japanese dealers actually pay to buy a given model, across many dealers, updated continuously. Combined with retail, used and auction prices, it lets us describe the Japanese market for a specific model far more precisely than a price screenshot can.
What we will not do
- We will not estimate. A number we could not obtain is left blank and labelled as such.
- We will not copy figures from other sites. Every price carries the date we collected it and the source we collected it from.
- We will not tell you Japan is cheap when it is not. In our own measurements it frequently is not.
